Alloyed is delighted to announce that it has extended its licensing agreement with Aubert and Duval for its nickel alloy ABD®-900AM for a further two years and build on the excellent progress the partnership has achieved to date. Aubert and Duval has seen overwhelming interest in the ABD®-900AM alloy during the three years that it has partnered with Alloyed, most notably from the aerospace, energy, and automotive sectors. The extended agreement will enable Aubert and Duval to continue to produce and distribute the ABD®-900AM nickel base powder alloy for additive manufacturing applications that require higher strength and higher temperatures.
According to Adeline Riou, Powder Sales Manager for Aubert & Duval: “We are pleased to confirm this new extended deal, which will enable Aubert and Duval to continue building relationships with our customers across key industrial sectors as they move from prototype-level components to production with the ABD®-900AM alloy. In the last three years we have witnessed a significant increase in the demand for alloys for additive manufacturing. This is no longer a niche / specialised discipline, but rather it is becoming acknowledged as essential to get the best performance out of high-temperature AM for production applications. This shift is reflected in the increase in our orderbook for increasing volumes of the alloy.”
The demand for the ABD®-900AM alloy can be attributed to a number of key advantages that result from it being specifically designed for the AM process. Notably, these include that it can be printed crack-free with a wide processing window and exhibit high strength up to 900°C. This is a significant performance benefit compared with conventional comparative alloys, where there is often a trade-off between strength and printability.
Michael Holmes, CEO at Alloyed, commented: “For the last three years we have continued to see serious industry interest in the ABD®-900AM alloy through our partnership with Aubert & Duval, who are an ideal partner for Alloyed due to the best possible combination of broad market reach and high-quality powder production capabilities. Extending our partnership with Aubert and Duval is a no-brainer for Alloyed and will enable us to achieve even greater success with such a well-respected leader in the powder manufacturing industry. We look forward to sharing more progress over the next two years.”
