Alloyed is a young venture-funded company of about 190 world-class metallurgists, engineers, and software developers working across 3 sites in the UK, 1 in Japan, and 1 in Seattle to build the future of advanced metal components. To do this it uses proprietary software packages which combine advanced machine learning and physical modelling to invent better alloys, devise better ways to process them, and design better 3D-printed components.
Alloyed is seeking an engineer with a statistics, mathematics, computer science, physics, or engineering background to join the Innovation Services division. The engineer will develop statistical models for predicting variation in Additive Manufacturing, working closely with process, materials and software engineers. The candidate will identify, understand, and help control key process variables that are critical for growing a fleet of Laser Powder Bed Fusion machines and scaling component production. They should possess excellent organisational and cross-functional communication skills to ensure the value of their work reaches the wider business.
An ideal candidate should have experience with data management, machine learning and / or statistical modelling. Previous experience in probabilistic programming, time-series forecasting, metallurgy or Additive Manufacturing are also desirable.
The engineer will be based at Alloyed’s R&D facility in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. A highly competitive remuneration package is offered, including equity incentives.
To apply, submit a CV and a supporting statement by email to jobs@alloyed.com. The supporting statement should explain how you meet the selection criteria for the role using examples of your skills and any experience. All documents should be uploaded as PDF files. This is a continuous recruitment effort. We will fill positions as excellent candidates present themselves so your early application is encouraged.
