Alloyed is a young venture-funded company of around 180 world-class metallurgists, mechanical engineers, technicians, and software developers working across three offices in the UK and one in the US, building the future of advanced metal components. We use proprietary software packages and extensive experimental facilities to 3D print metal components better and faster than anyone else.
A division of Alloyed, is currently designing microturbine engines in a variety of sizes and specifications for a range of jet propulsion applications. Alloyed is using additive manufacturing to increase performance over current state of the art by leveraging more complex designs enabled by AM and bespoke high temperature materials. Alongside the mechanical design work, Alloyed is building a bespoke controller to partner the engine and its ancillaries. The controller is designed to be easily adapted across the range of engines that Alloyed are developing, whilst interfacing with a range of customer platforms.
Alloyed are seeking a motivated embedded systems firmware engineer to support with the design and testing of this controller. The role involves taking existing development controls setups and turning them into production ready solutions, adding functionality and improving reliability. An ideal candidate would be an expert in embedded firmware development, with familiarity of the hardware involved in such systems, with scope to shape the role around exceptional individuals.
You will primarily be based at Alloyed's site in Yarnton, north of Oxford, collaborating closely with the controls team and reporting to the Head of Controls/Chief Engineer.
