Alloyed is a young venture-funded company of about 180 world-class metallurgists, engineers, and software developers working across 3 sites in the UK, 1 in Japan, and 1 in Seattle to build the future of advanced metal components and systems. To do this it uses proprietary software packages which combine advanced machine learning and physical modelling to invent better alloys, devise better ways to process them, and design better 3D-printed components and assemblies.

Focuses on optimising additive manufacturing (AM) processes, generating build files, and implementing post-processing techniques. Works with AM software platforms, supports hardware performance analysis, and contributes to the production of high-quality, precision-engineered parts.

• Optimisation of AM processing parameters, both for application-specific use cases and broader usage
• Generation of build files using Alloyed's integrated AM software platform, which includes design of strategies for part orientation, nesting and support structures
• Implementation of post-processing steps to enable manufacture of drop-in components, including CNC machining
• Analysis of AM hardware performance using experimental characterisation techniques

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (2:1 minimum)
• Proficient in CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion or similar)
• Excellent problem-solving ability and capability to convert complex data into actions with practical solutions
• Adaptable, organised, and able to prioritise multiple workstreams
• Willingness to get hands on with manufacturing processes
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams

• Experience with metal additive manufacturing design constraints and approaches
• Knowledge or experience of the aerospace, automotive and electronic industries
• A thesis in a relevant field
• Knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of traditional manufacturing methods
• Experience using CAD packages
