Alloyed is a young venture-funded company of about 180 world-class metallurgists, engineers, and software developers working across 3 sites in the UK, 1 in Japan, and 1 in Seattle to build the future of advanced metal components and systems. To do this it uses proprietary software packages which combine advanced machine learning and physical modelling to invent better alloys, devise better ways to process them, and design better 3D-printed components and assemblies.

Designs and develops mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools, ensuring manufacturability and functional alignment. Supports prototype development, technical documentation, and design reviews while collaborating with engineers across disciplines.

• Creating and iterating on 3D CAD models of components and assemblies, ensuring alignment with functional and manufacturing requirements.
• Developing and releasing detailed technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing, inspection, and assembly.
• Supporting design reviews, maintaining high standards of clarity and accuracy.
• Maintaining organised version control and file management within PLM or CAD environments.
• Assisting in rapid prototyping and design-for-manufacture evaluations during early development phases.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design Engineering or equivalent (2:1 minimum).
• Proficient in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion or similar.
• Understanding of the principles of technical drawings and or GD&T.
• Excellent problem-solving ability and capability to convert complex data into actions with practical solutions.
• Adaptable, organised, and able to prioritise multiple workstreams.
• Willingness to get hands on with manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.

• Experience with metal additive manufacturing design constraints and approaches.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacture and assembly principles.
• Knowledge or experience of the aerospace, automotive and electronic industries.
• Knowledge of PLM systems and collaborative design workflows.
• Experience in other CAD tools such as Rhino-Grasshopper or Siemens NX.
• Familiarity with design validation techniques such as prototyping, tolerance stack-ups, and basic FEA.
