Alloyed is a young venture funded company of around 190 world class metallurgists, mechanical engineers, technicians, and software developers working across three offices in the UK and one in the US, building the future of advanced metal components. We use proprietary software packages and extensive experimental facilities to 3D print metal components better and faster than anyone else.

The post processing team carries out all manufacturing steps after additive manufacture and heat treatment and before quality control. The team uses a range of equipment to do this, including EDMs, bandsaws, lathes, tumblers, and many types of hand tools.

The Post Processing Team Leader is responsible for leading the post processing team, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant delivery of post processing activities to ensure production requirements are met. The role combines people management, process ownership, task planning, and hands on support to ensure on time delivery, quality, and continuous improvement within the post processing area.

• Managing the 7 person post processing team, including performance management and regular feedback
• Assigning daily tasks to individual operators and planning work for late shift and early shift handover
• Driving adherence to approved post processing processes, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Maintaining 5S standards across the post processing area, including housekeeping, layout, and organisation.
• Managing consumables to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Scheduling and allocating routine maintenance and cleaning activities.
• Communicating daily priorities and critical tasks with the Production Manager
• Identifying and supporting opportunities to improve processes and the post processing work area in collaboration with CI and Training teams.
• Coordinating between post processing operators and Engineering, feeding back specific process and manufacturability issues
• Providing hands on support to post processing operators when required to ensure on time delivery.

• 4+ years’ experience leading or supervising teams in a manufacturing or post processing environment
• Strong understanding of post processing equipment and manual finishing operations
• Ability to plan work, allocate resources, and manage competing priorities
• Ability to use a wide range of operational technology systems; able to identify and define requirements for new tools as required for to manage and track production
• Strong communication skills across operators, engineers, and production management
• High level of awareness of quality and health and safety requirements
• Familiarity with 5S and continuous improvement principles

• Degree in engineering, manufacturing, or similar
• Experience in additive manufacturing post processing environments
